Learning to embrace the 'freak out' moments

Happy Monday everyone!

One of the things that we strive to achieve with our blogposts and online presence at H+K is authenticity and sharing our true experiences. Often in the world of social media we are faced with idealised lives, people who seem to have everything organised and going their way 100% of the time. But that simply isn’t true. At one point or another everyone is faced with hardship and the pain of failing or even the fear of not knowing what is next.

Having the occasion, or even frequent, “what the heck am I doing?!” moment is normal. Especially when you are pursuing a path that is unconventional and focused more heavily on your dreams as opposed to conventional success.

But we want you to know that these moments are incredibly powerful for not only solidifying your intentions, but also for highlighting your needs. Perhaps a simple example is when you have a little freak out over finances. It’s reached the end of your pay cycle and you look at your expenditures. Where did all that money go! How can I be cutting it so fine again?

Instead of trying to act like everything is ok, and then spiralling out of control perhaps just embracing the panic for a moment could be the best option. Learn to sit with that fear, let it wash over you. And once it passes take a deep breath and consider your next step. Plan it out, map all your options and strategise.

As we have said before, nothing worth doing ever happens with full ease. You need to work hard and face the challenges that arise as a way to test you.

Remember that following your heart is full of learning curves, you are going along a route that is not tried and tested and there will be hiccups along the way. But learning to adapt by feeling into whatever comes your way is one of the key ways to overcome that derailing sense of fear.

We hope you have a wonderful week and wish you all the best,

H+K
