A Zero Waste Christmas
Do your part for the planet this Christmas!
We have all started to make positive changes towards supporting the health of our planet. Whether that be using a reusable coffee cup, changing your sanitary products or switching to shampoo bars. All of these things have a positive effect on our consumption of single use plastic. Looking at the news it can get overwhelming, as we see oceans filled with plastic bottles and landfill overflowing with unnecessary waste.
Christmas is a time of immense love and joy, but is also one of the most wasteful times of the year. It’s estimated that during the Christmas period the UK produces 3 times more waste than on any other month. For example, on average 175 million mince pies will be consumed over Christmas. Translated into wastage amounts, 1 million mince pie cases creates 1 tonne of aluminium material. If recycled correctly then this can be reused towards other items. However in most cases (pun intended), this is simply discarded into landfill.
The main thing is that we begin to become aware of firstly how we recycle, but most importantly how we consume single use items. Why not substitute your usual plastic wrapped christmas wrapping for newspaper, or even brown paper which can be bought by the meter at a local craft store.
Here are a few other ways to reduce your footprint this Christmas:
Bake your own mince pies and other Christmas treats. Or pop in to your local bakery and chat to them about ordering some without the usual single use waste.
Opt for paper confetti as opposed to plastic or foil
Swap Christmas crackers for some fun home made crafty table places. Get your children involved and have a little bit of a pre-Christmas craft party! Otherwise both Waitrose and Selfridges have plastic free crackers on offer this year.
Remove single use straws, cups, plates and cutlery. If you do not have enough crockery or cups for your party, ask your guests to bring some!
Use cloth napkins and table cloths. Yes, there is more cleaning involved but far less waste produced.
Opt for spirits and drinks in glass containers as opposed to plastic.
There are so many other ways to reduce your consumption of harmful plastics over the holiday period, it sometimes takes a little more effort but is so worth it!
Let us know your thoughts and perhaps ways you are trying to reduce your footprint this year.
Much Love,

As we farewell 2019 and this decade, let us take time to reflect on how far we have come.
As we reach the end of 2019 it is a time to take stock and come to terms with all the lessons, challenges and triumphs we have had. Perhaps even more impressively we can also look back at the past 10 years and see how much has changed and how far we have come.
For us this year has been a beautiful opportunity to step into our greatest lives. We have been challenged and have experienced some pretty astonishing highs and lows. But the most important thing we can take away from this year and from the past 10 years is our desire to continue our journey to our dreams and our best selves.
An amazing exercise that we will be doing over the next few days is looking back at the last few years and recounting all the things we have achieved. Who were you 10 years ago and who are you now? Have that conversation, whether it be mentally or through journalling, and really appreciate all that you have done.
The second step is to look forward 10 years and establish what you wish to achieve and do in that time. Sit with yourself and really listen, they can be small things and they can be massive achievements. Whatever they are, plant the seed now with the knowledge of your accomplishments of the past 10 years and let that be your fuel.
If it feels too monumental a task, then how about -keeping with the theme- lay down 10 things you want to achieve or do. You have 10 years to do them so that in itself gives you a greater boundary in which to map out your journey.
We would love it if you shared some of your past achievements and future goals with us. Working as a community is one way in which we can really strengthen our resolve and having people to cheer us on is a wonderful thing.
Good luck!
Much love,
H+K
Mindful Christmas Gifts
Need some ideas for minimal and mindful Christmas gifts?
We have reached the final month of 2019! The final month of a decade and the beginning of the Holiday Period. It can be a little overwhelming to say the least. Between school concerts, the Christmas present rush, making plans to see all your loved ones and also even just organising the big day. There is a huge amount of pressure to spend, arrange and rush about, but Christmas doesn’t need to be like this. At it’s core Christmas is about sharing love and time with others, our best memories of Christmas are those moments where we were simply with the people we love having fun.
Here are a few gift ideas that may draw the focus away from the frantic nature of Christmas and return us to the true importance of this magical time of year:
1) Plan a fun day out for your loved one. Create an itinerary and get crafty by putting together a little pamphlet of what they can expect. This way they can still receive a beautiful gift made by you and get excited for the wonderful day you have planned!
2) Organise an indoor picnic. Yes, it’s freezing outside. But there is nothing stopping you from creating your own indoor wonderland! Push your couch out of the way and put up some fairy lights, light some candles and create your perfect picnic hamper. We’re thinking mulled wine/ribena, Mince Pies, sandwiches, hot chocolate and maybe even a cheese board. Then pop on your favourite tunes and surround yourself with plants. You could even put a fireplace video on your TV! Make sure to put your phone on airplane mode so you can really enjoy the moment.
3) A home craft or baking day. When it comes to gifting for children particularly, often the most nourishing experiences are those when they can learn from their family members. Why not arrange a day where you can get a few of your loved ones together and you can teach each other a skill. Whether that be baking scones with your grandma, knitting with your aunt and maybe even learning about native birds with an avid ornithologist (bird watcher)!
Just remember that Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year. And Christmas in the UK is a beautiful and spectacular experience!
We hope this gave you a bit of inspiration for your holidays,
Much Love,

Switching gears
Learning to switch gear is a key way to avoid burnout.
Often when we are pursuing something we are truly passionate about it can be hard to register that we may need to stop.
The desire to keep going, to push through any tiredness and to ignore the warning signs that perhaps we need rest is one we all have faced. But what if the true key to success is not in continuing and pushing through, but taking time to rest.
Learning to switch gears and to stop is often the best thing for us, letting us reset and renew. The true key is to learn when and how to do this before we reach that all too common point of exhaustion. Allowing ourselves to not get completely burnt out before we notice that we need to take care of ourselves.
A few wonderful ways to reset before you get overwhelmed are:
1) Taking an hour out of your work week to spend in nature. Being in green spaces is incredibly invigorating and calming.
2) Have a bath, or pamper yourself. Spending a little time on yourself during the work week can seem a little indulgent, but it so important! Put on a face mask, have a lovely cup of tea and listen to your favourite album. Reconnect to the things that make you feel a bit more like yourself.
3) Eat a nourishing meal. When we are racing at 100 miles per hour it can be easy to reach for a takeaway or rush down some leftovers. However, spending time to make a simple and healthy meal can give you more headspace, and making sure to enjoy it away from a screen will help to centre you.
We hope this has given you a few ideas to incorporate into your week.
Much Love,

Own your dreams
Live your life and own your dreams as part of who you are.
It can be frustrating when we pursue something with passion but others perhaps do not understand the gravity of what we are doing. We can reinforce our beliefs with debate and try and prove to them time and time again that what we do is of worth.
But the path to really demonstrating how important your dreams are is simple. You must just own your path. Live your life in the most genuine and authentic way and do not wait for others to be convinced by your words, but rather your actions.
The people we most admire in the world are often those who live their lives without the fear or desire to be accepted by others. People like Sir David Attenborough, Frida Kahlo and even David Bowie have all inspired us through their sheer determination to live their life without having to prove anything to others.
Now this can be easier said than done, in a world where we are constantly taught that our value comes from the perception of other people we can lose our pure intentions in favour of recognition.
But what we want you to take away from this is that you are so capable of existing and thriving without the approval of others. Do yourself and your dreams justice and begin the uncoupling of yourself from the gaze of others.
We wish you a very happy Monday,
Much Love,

What you need for your mindset toolkit
Three essential tools to help you along your way to your dreams.
It is incredibly easy to get caught up in the logistics of making our dreams happen. Lists upon lists fall out of us as we sit at our desks, dining tables, coffee tables or even in our cars visualising the leaps that need to occur. However when we pursue a life of passion and authenticity there are three things we need to ensure that we have:
1) The desire to achieve
2) Fortitude and strength to pursue our dreams
3) A sense of humour
All of these skills or mindsets enable us to approach every challenge with grace and enable us to view every success or failure as simply another stop along the way.
We cannot simply rely on just one, dreams are not made into reality just through the desire to achieve them. Just as much as you cannot realise your potential through strength alone. All three must be present and work together to build you up in order to allow you to actualise your real self.
What does this harmony mean to you? Write down a scenario in which you have achieved creating your dream life. What does it feel like and how do you look and feel.
Remember that the path to our self made success is rarely easy, you will need to embrace the challenges and setbacks as part of your experience. But never forget the drive that is taking you there and the desire that is allowing you to free yourself from the life that no longer serves you.
Good luck.
Much Love,

Letting go.
Learn to let the chips fall where they may.
Happy Monday! As we gently roll into another week, full of promise and expectation we wanted to focus on the idea of letting go and “letting the chips fall where they may”.
Learning to embrace an attitude of non-attachment and following the stream of life, wherever it may lead can be a hard lesson. But it is something that can really enable you to truly embrace and enjoy the present moment. Sometimes things don’t go as we plan, but that in itself is a beauty because it allows us to see how life can be when we have less control over the outcome.
A simple way to practice this is through non-reactivity. We often react within an instant of a situation or an event occurring. But sometimes our reactions are not authentic to who we are, and can be exacerbated by a desire or issue with control. So the next time you are faced with an issue, just take a deep breath and pause. Evaluate where you can go, and see whether the outcome itself really is worse than what you had hoped. Often there is a beautiful lesson that we can glean even from something that looks, at first glance, to be a failure.
We hope that this has given you something to ponder going into your work week.
Much love,
H+K
Learning to embrace the 'freak out' moments
Can those “what the heck am I doing!?” moments really help us?
Happy Monday everyone!
One of the things that we strive to achieve with our blogposts and online presence at H+K is authenticity and sharing our true experiences. Often in the world of social media we are faced with idealised lives, people who seem to have everything organised and going their way 100% of the time. But that simply isn’t true. At one point or another everyone is faced with hardship and the pain of failing or even the fear of not knowing what is next.
Having the occasion, or even frequent, “what the heck am I doing?!” moment is normal. Especially when you are pursuing a path that is unconventional and focused more heavily on your dreams as opposed to conventional success.
But we want you to know that these moments are incredibly powerful for not only solidifying your intentions, but also for highlighting your needs. Perhaps a simple example is when you have a little freak out over finances. It’s reached the end of your pay cycle and you look at your expenditures. Where did all that money go! How can I be cutting it so fine again?
Instead of trying to act like everything is ok, and then spiralling out of control perhaps just embracing the panic for a moment could be the best option. Learn to sit with that fear, let it wash over you. And once it passes take a deep breath and consider your next step. Plan it out, map all your options and strategise.
As we have said before, nothing worth doing ever happens with full ease. You need to work hard and face the challenges that arise as a way to test you.
Remember that following your heart is full of learning curves, you are going along a route that is not tried and tested and there will be hiccups along the way. But learning to adapt by feeling into whatever comes your way is one of the key ways to overcome that derailing sense of fear.
We hope you have a wonderful week and wish you all the best,
H+K
Decisiveness and following your happiness
Learning to follow your heart to your true happiness is a hard but worthy journey.
We all know what we want. Whether or not it is a conscious decision or something hidden in the recess of our minds. But for many, it can be hard admitting and committing to that desire. Learning to allow yourself to follow your intuition and things that enable you to live your life of your dreams can be a hard journey. But it is a necessary one if you are to be happy.
Sometimes it’s as simple as jumping into a course that you are longing to do, or even quitting a job that no longer serves you. Listening to that inner voice and honouring yourself is the single most powerful and loving thing you can do for yourself and for others, because when we live our life authentically and with pure happiness we offer service to those around us.
Here is a small exercise you can utilise when you are feeling trapped in a cycle of self-deprivation:
1) Evaluate what it is that fires you up when you think of it. Usually that is the choice you should make.
2) Write down a list of things that could happen if you take that journey. Next write down a list of things that could happen if you do not.
3) Sit down and imagine a scenario in which you make that decision or change. Does the outcome excite you? If so then it is the right choice!
We hope this helps you in some way, let us know your thoughts!
Good luck.
Much Love,
H+K
Visualisations and how they help us
How can you use your daydreams to realise your true potential?
A few months ago we published a blogpost on the importance of manifestation and creating your dream life. We thought that it was time to return to that topic and refocus on our attention on the incredible power we have in determining our life journey.
Journalling, visualisations and manifestation all have a integral part to play to pursuing our dreams. We use these tools to identify what exactly we want, to feel into the moment and examine how to get there. Using these techniques not only allow us to create a tangible outcome for our efforts, but also a focus for us to pinpoint when we run into challenges.
Having something to work towards is a powerful motivator. Whether that be a finish line in a race or a degree after years of study. We all need something to hook our efforts to. And that is where visualisation comes in. Now, for many people this can sound a bit wishy-washy, but believe us when we say that you can never underestimate the power of your mind when it is motivated by something you want deeply. Creating a scenario in your head in which you have achieved your goals and have come out at the point in which you wish to reach is a wonderful way to map out your trajectory.
For example, one way to do this is through journalling. Sit down for 10 minutes and write down what your perfect day would look like in your ideal life. What are you wearing, how is your routine, what is it that you are doing and most importantly how are you feeling whilst you do that? Get into true detail, create a tapestry of intricacies and feel your response deep within you.
Do this as often as you can, mapping out different days and feelings, demonstrate how it would feel to get that promotion or to buy your dream house. Go back and read them or develop mantras or affirmations that reinforce that which you are striving for. If you work with intentional consistency you will marvel at the changes that occur and most interestingly what you are manifesting begins to take form.
We hope that this has given you some inspiration and perhaps guidance if you need. Let us know your thoughts and whether this is something you have tried.
Much Love,
H+K
You can do hard things
Pursuing your dreams is hard, but you can do amazing things when you believe in yourself!
How often do you find yourself in a situation that challenges you and you feel like giving up? Honestly sometimes we do to. However one thing that we like to bear in mind when we are faced with a moment that pushes us to our limits is this: You can do hard things.
Learning to accept that you are capable of doing many great things can be intensely liberating and enables you to realise that you have the chance to achieve your dreams. Whether that be to run a marathon, open your own business or start a new career. All of these things require dedication, hard work and sacrifice.
When faced with the overwhelming feeling that you may not be able to do it, that it all might be too much. We like to focus on the mantra “You can do hard things” repeating that over in your head and feeling it wash over you. Allow it to fill you with the conviction and confidence to go forward and conquer anything in your path.
Approaching things from this perspective, that you are wildly capable and able to do anything you set your mind to, allows us to release ourselves from fear of failure. Regardless of the outcome you put your everything into what you sought to achieve.
We hope that this gives you strength going into this new week!

Positivity and Happiness
What does positivity look like to you?
We can all agree that having a positive mindset his a very admirable trait. Something that is often used to describe a person who, despite challenges, maintains a degree of light in their day. However something that we feel must be understood, is that in order to be positive you do not always need to be happy.
Maintaining an overall experience and outlook of positivity in your life enables you to roll with the punches so to speak, but it doesn’t automatically mean that in each and every moment you need to be happy. Happiness 100% of the time is hugely daunting for many people and can undermine our best intentions. So today we are hoping to shed light on how you can be an incredibly positive person, but also have your low moments.
Positivity, in our minds, is the reflection of values that uphold a general sense of understanding that the world is changeable and that we ourselves are able to adapt. It is the choice to remain open and be aware of your reactions rather than fall into a natural habit of victim vs situation. Maintaining and creating a positive attitude towards life and its many ups and downs is like exercising a muscle. You need to be fully invested and aware that it takes time. Learning to open yourself up to the changing tide of the universe and not remain stuck in your preconceived outcomes can be challenging, but often yields up much sweeter results.
This is what it means to be a positive person, to be open and available to all that the universe, life and your journey has in store.
We hope that this has offered you some insight into the ways you can reintroduce yourself to your own positivity. Let us know your thoughts!
Much Love,

Climbing your mountain
What if it is the mountain that is the prize, not the peak?
Sometimes life can feel like a series of mountains and dips. We can be constantly climbing for our goals, reaching for our potential and perhaps feel like we aren’t getting anywhere. Each day we step closer and closer and sometimes we misstep and a hurdle pops up to test us.
But what if the act of climbing is the real reward?
We get so focused on the end result without pausing to view the lesson and the journey we are being presented with. If you speak to any person who has overcome immense adversity or achieved something great. They often say that the journey itself was the most rewarding part.
Particularly nowadays with the strength of social media we often get a warped sense of the importance of achievements. Yes winning a race is wonderful, but the true joy is witnessing your body adapt and grow as you train for it.
What if you applied that to your everyday life? What if each day you spend studying your degree to qualify for your dream career is the real joy?
This means that in each moment, as a perceived positive and negative, you have the power to revel in it’s glory!
Take time today to assess and see what you can change from a trauma to a triumph. It is a long process but once you start to make that shift you will notice that marvellous things happen.
Good Luck,

Finding a routine that suits you
How can you use your daily routine to serve you best?
I am sure you have heard about impressive CEOs of huge companies or magazine editors explaining their morning routine. Waking up at 4am to work out, meditate, journal, do yoga, eat breakfast and more. They then cram their day full but still manage to make a 6pm reservation at a top restaurant and run an empire.
Well, that’s great! But the thing is it does not suit us all. We have all heard the terms morning bird or night owl. And this, in our case at least, is so true. Some of us are more suited to morning routines whilst others can while away the night working. The thing that is key to remember is we are all different, and it is imperative that we create and curate a routine that suits our needs and also how our body and mind operates.
When creating a routine it is important to focus on three things:
1) What do you enjoy doing?
2) What is it you want to achieve?
3) How is the best way to use your time?
Once you can answer these three things it can become very easy to create a schedule and routine that suits you perfectly. If you love having a quite cup of coffee in your bed in the morning then pop that in. If nothing gets you ready for the day like a short run before the sun comes up then make sure you do that. However if you need to sleep in and find a moment of comfort before your day begins then prioritize that. It can be so easy to fall into a ‘cookie-cutter’ mindset in that you feel that you need to emulate the schedule and lifestyle of those you look up to.
We are all so different and so wonderfully diverse, that it is important to note that you need different things to Oprah or Elon Musk.
Take some time this week to check in and see how you perhaps could alter your routine in order to serve yourself better.
Much love,
H+K
Prioritising Sleep
Catching some zzz’s at work? Maybe you need to reconfigure your sleep habits!
Who here cannot make it past 9am without their morning coffee? Now is this because of the ritual of it, the taste or that you simply cannot function without it?
Sleep deprivation is a huge issue for many people, particularly parents who are juggling the commitments of family life with their careers and ambitions. This week we wanted to focus a little bit on the importance of maintaining a state of rest for not only the physical health but also the mental health aspects too.
When we sleep we are in a state of repair. Our body goes about it’s business of processing our food, filtering our blood and repairing stressed and tired tissue. Also our mind goes through the process of consolidating our day, this means digesting our experiences, emotions and understanding of what has happened.
If we do not have adequate good quality sleep our body not only begins to function at a lower frequency, but we begin to loose our ability to properly mentally focus in our day. We may begin to become more irritable, forgetful and also emotional. The book ‘Why we Sleep’ by Matthew Walker is an exceptional piece that deals with the importance of our sleep from a scientific standpoint. He runs through the importance of real good quality sleep and how things such as caffeine, alcohol and daily stressors impact on this.
This is something, if you have been to a Wellness Chiropractor, you would have heard a lot of in your Chiropractic practice. By ensuring that our nervous system is aligned correctly, we can maintain the correct function of our nervous system. This means that natural processes such as sleep, digestion and cognitive function can occur as uninterrupted as possible. One of our close friends began Chiropractic care after years of poor sleep and brain fog. Once she maintained a regular schedule of adjustments, combined with adequate water intake, reducing caffeine after 12pm and importantly increasing her exercise she noticed that she felt more rested and vibrant than she had in years.
The most important takeaway from this is that you must invest in your sleep in order to see the results in other actions you are taking towards your overall health. You cannot train effectively in the gym if you are fatigued, runners cannot expect to compete to their best if they are tired, and you cannot expect to achieve all your goals if you are falling asleep at your desk.
So if you are in need of some TLC in the sleep department, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us!
We hope you have a restful and wonderful week,
Much Love,
H+K
Learning to Celebrate your wins
How often do you celebrate all that you have achieved?
Being humble is something we all praise. More often than not you were raised to accept compliments in an offhand way, dimming the overall experience of it rather than come across as conceited or self absorbed.
Women particularly can be incredibly harsh on ourselves when it comes to accepting compliments on our achievements, or acknowledging how well we are doing. Specifically with our business and life goals in mind, it can be increasingly hard to boost ourselves when we are always operating in a diminished mindset.
Many self help books and motivational speakers will wax lyrical on the importance of accepting praise, but it can be so hard to put into practice. Here are a few ways that we believe can help you to bring focus to all you have achieved and raise a glass to your exceptional efforts.
1) Write down 10 things you love about yourself. Take the time to really think about the things that make you unique and that allow you to live the life you do!
2) Take a moment once a week to sit down with a cup of tea, coffee or even something bubbly, and toast to yourself.
3) Journal with the intention of looking at how far you have come. By looking back we become far more away of how much we have achieved and we can see the immensity of the life we are creating every day.
What you do with your life has purpose and means something. Never forget that you are contributing something beautiful to the universe by simply living your truth. Learn to celebrate that!
We hope you have a beautiful week ahead of you,
Much Love,

Being 'Goofy'
It’s fun to be silly sometimes! Learn how to inject a bit of goofiness into your life.
When was the last time you danced to a fun song in the middle of the day? Or when you went mini-golfing with your girlfriends as a funny date!
We all get so caught up in being an adult, always having everything together all the time and ticking off our to-do lists, nailing the school run and developing excellent strategies for work.
However all of that gets dull, monotonous and uninspiring! You need to inject some sparkle in your life. Joy is a very underestimated aspect of our lives. Singing to your favourite song as you prepare for your day, having a little boogie with your children in a supermarket aisle and even just wearing a funky shirt to work. All of these things break us out of this strict ‘Adult’ mood that we create a cultivate in our days.
Recently one of our friends attended an immersive cinema experience where she and her partner had to dress up in their 1940s best and were involved in an acted plot to acquire transit papers out of Casablanca. Surrounded by actors who wouldn’t break character and confronted with interesting conversations and situations that took them completely out of their normal lives. One thing that it really reminded them of is playing make believe as children.
Being child-like and goofy is something we don’t often have time or energy to do. But after the experience our friend felt invigorated and inspired! So here is a challenge for you, this week try something to feed your inner child or inner ‘goof’. Sing ABBA in rush hour, host a dance off in your kitchen as you make dinner and even organise a fun Karaoke party with your friends at home.
All of these things work to encourage us out of our shells, to expand our day and energy into the realms of fun for funs sake.
Have a beautiful week.
Much Love,
H+K
Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough -Oprah Winfrey
Focus on what you have and let what you do not, go.
Perspective. It’s a beautiful gift but can usually only be gathered retrospectively. In the moment we can get caught up in the things we don’t have. The things we want but feel we will never get or even just the ‘negative’ aspects of our lives that we wish weren’t so.
However when we focus on the negative, or the things that bring us down, quite often they continue occurring with increased ferocity. When we are able to focus on the things we have that we are thankful for in our lives, those things that bring us joy and fulfilment they bloom. The quote above perfectly captures this mentality. That in order to feel true unadulterated joy we must first seek out and celebrate the things we adore now.
This idea draws on aspects of the law of attraction. Being that the things we draw focus on will somehow keep occurring. Like manifesting your dream job, when we put our energy into the negative or the things that bring us down, that is sure to continue. Breaking out of this cycle of the belief of living in lack can be difficult. But the most simple and foolproof way to do so is by finding present moment awareness. Looking to develop that skill of basking in the moment and taking in all that you are having the privilege of seeing and experiencing.
So the next time you find yourself lusting after that ‘next thing’ that will make your life exponentially better. Take a moment to think “will this choice, item or experience really improve my life, or will it distract me from my true nature?”
We hope you have a beautiful and abundant week ahead of you!
Much Love,
H+K
Learning to build yourself up
In the pursuit of your dreams and dream life, you need to build yourself up and believe in yourself.
In the pursuit of our goals and dreams the single most important person that we need support from is ourselves. Quite often we fall into the habit of relying on others as our support system without fully believing in ourselves. However, the only person who is 100% impacted by us achieving or not following our dreams is in fact, us.
So, this is where we urge you to be selfish. To wholeheartedly embody your dreams and listen deeply to what your inner voice is calling for. Do you need to put yourself before another person sometimes in order to achieve all that you wish to achieve? Taking time throughout your busy day to check in with yourself and ask “How are we doing today?” can be a hugely empowering thing. What it does is it brings the attention back the the fact that you are indeed steering this ship and that the direction is yours to choose.
We know that for many of you, letting yourself fall into your own being is hard. Learning to let go and allow yourself to focus on yourself instead of constantly being distracted by others is an immense challenge.
But unless you are completely focused, understanding and invested in yourself you may never achieve your dreams. We believe and hope, that this allows you to see that you need to be your own best friend, cheerleader and constructive critic.
Have a wonderful week,
Much Love,
H+K
Try something out of your comfort zone
Let yourself expand out of your comfort zone!
So you’ve nailed your morning, daily and weekly routine. You go to yoga, you head out for a run during your lunch break and most importantly you have increased your ‘me time’ recently.
However, self care, like anything can plateau. You have probably experienced something similar to this when you have been working out or striving for an aesthetic goal. You go to the gym or for a run and every time you notice results, until it just stops. This is because your body has begun to get used to the positive stress you are placing on it, and physically that is usually when you need to increase your load or distance.
The same goes for self care and personal mental development. We all need to switch it up from time to time to increase our mental and emotional endurance. This is where new experiences come in. When we try something new or different we are engaging different aspects of our creativity and also our brain. We are inviting for new neural pathways to be created and also encouraging ourselves to open up in new ways.
Now this could be as simple as changing up the style of yoga you go to. Moving on from a slow flow to fiery vinyasa or cooling yin. Or it could be that you enrol in a ceramics class or take a different route home from work. The change can be as little or as big as you like. But the important thing is that there is a change of some form.
This week, why not challenge yourself to one new activity. Write it down in your diary, book it in and see how this impacts your life. Note the internal shifts that start to happen and perhaps focus on the way it makes you feel by trying something new and exciting.
We are creatures that crave stimulus, so we should constantly be looking for ways to positively fill that void. Let us know the ways you are changing up your routine.
Have a beautiful week,
Much Love,
